Understanding Newcomer Life in Denmark

This project was an early precursor to my thesis work. Before narrowing the focus to language learning, expats and social interaction, I explored the broader everyday challenges people can face when settling in Denmark.

Through co-design, journey mapping and prototyping, the project looked at practical needs around orientation, access to information, local belonging and everyday support. The work helped shape the direction that later became my thesis project on language learning as a social phenomenon.

Focus: Newcomer experience, everyday support and local belonging

Disciplines: Interaction design · Social design · Co-design · Participatory design

Approach: Design thinking · Journey mapping · Co-design · Wireframing · Prototyping

Output: Application concept and prototype

The process moved through user journey mapping, co-design sessions, process mapping, wireframing and prototype development.
